John Kendall is a full-time, professional DJ Tutor and has been running DJ lessons and workshops around the Bristol area for over 8 years. As a DJ, John has played with some of the biggest names in Drum & Bass including, Roni Size, High Contrast and Shy FX. Having DJ'd for over 10 years he has established a great reputation in and around the Bristol underground music scene. This includes founding and developing the critically acclaimed club night 'The Rubiks Cube' which went on to spawn the record label 'Rubik Records'.

John teaches DJing in schools and youth projects across the South West and has worked with community music projects in the Forest of Dean and Herefordshire. He has developed his own DJ Attainment Scheme, which can be adapted to the style and size of each teaching session. Courses range from long-term, weekly workshops with large groups to one-off, 2 hour workshops with individuals. He has taught young people of all ages and backgrounds as well as people with both learning and behavioural difficulties. His experience from working at Ashfield Young Offenders Institute has developed his skill to engage young people with particularly challenging behavior with DJing being an invaluable tool in focusing their energy away from offending behaviour. John is an assessor for Bronze and Silver Arts Award, a nationally recognized arts qualification. More recently he has been delivering DJ lessons alongside more traditional instrument tuition as a peripatetic teacher in secondary schools.
